The DEAN tanning industry processes only the highest quality lambskin,

Tanning makes the leather rot-proof, waterproof, breathable and durable. Impacts on the environment are minimised through appropriate abatement systems and emission controls.

RETANNING AND DYEING

The tanning process produces the first stabilisation of the leather: the so-called Wet Blue, blue-coloured wet hides ready for further processing.

With dyeing, the hides absorb a lot of water, which is removed by preliminary pressing and then by suspension drying in a well-ventilated environment.

Processing stage of the leather aimed at stretching its fibrous structure, made rigid by drying, to improve its elasticity and softness.
