Quality control and selection

endurance and perfection

DEAN quality control is structured in two steps, one visual and one mechanical

The first consists of verifying that the leathers meet the colour standards and all the basic visual characteristics that correspond to the production design, and the main structural characteristics of the leathers are tested. The mechanical check, on the other hand, measures thickness, tear and abrasion resistance, colour and its fastness to rubbing and water drops.

Once the inspection is complete, the skins are trimmed to eliminate marginal blemishes and parts not useful for marketing. An expert Quality Control ensures that each individual hide achieves the expected end result. Each production batch is traced every step of the way.
