The company DEAN S.p.a. believes in the social role of business and promotes the values of fairness, respect and loyalty within its organisation and towards its stakeholders.
DEAN S.p.A. confirms its commitment to achieving the highest ethical and sustainable development standards by adopting the principles of the SA8000 Standard in compliance with legal provisions and the main international conventions on human rights and workers' rights.
In particular, in line with the SA8000 Standard, the Company undertakes to
REFUSE THE EMPLOYMENT OF CHILD LABOUR IN THE COMPANY
and not to use or support, in company production processes, the use of child labour, in line with the provisions of current legislation, the relevant ILO Conventions and the International Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The Company has not in the past, does not at present, and will not in the future use child labour, nor does it encourage or take any action against its partners to induce them to adopt such practices.
PROTECT THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF WORKERS AND THEIR WELL-BEING
and to ensure a healthy and safe workplace by taking all appropriate measures to protect the well-being of workers and prevent accidents and damage to their health during their working hours.
The Company considers the health and safety of workers to be an essential value, training and information on these issues to be a priority and therefore guarantees, through the RSPP, a safe and healthy workplace for all workers. It takes all necessary measures to prevent accidents and damage to health that could occur during or as a result of work, minimising the causes of danger attributable to the work environment.
REFUSING THE USE OF FORCED AND COMPULSORY LABOUR
and not to resort to or support any form of use of forced and compulsory labour in the company. Prohibiting the use of labour carried out involuntarily and condemning any form of physical and mental coercion, including verbal insults, threats of punishment or disrespect for the personal dignity of any employee or collaborator.
RESPECT THE RIGHT TO FREEDOM OF ASSOCIATION AND COLLECTIVE BARGAINING
and to respect and protect workers' freedom of association, not to hinder their membership of trade unions and to promote collective bargaining.
Management undertakes to encourage free association by workers with trade union organisations and possible elections of representatives by workers, by providing spaces, company notice boards or other means deemed necessary for the exercise of this right.
Any trade union representatives will not be discriminated against in any way and will enjoy all the rights provided for in the applicable CCNL and regulations.
RESPECT THE RIGHT TO A DECENT WAGE AND FAIR WORKING HOURS
and to comply with current laws on working time, recognising rest and holidays and guaranteeing a decent and sufficient wage for their workers.
RESPECT THE PRINCIPLES OF DIGNITY, EQUALITY AND NON-DISCRIMINATION
and prohibit any form of discrimination against workers in remuneration, access to training, promotion, dismissal or retirement based on age, ethnic origin, nationality, political and trade union opinions, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, gender identity, physical and mental disabilities and any other personal characteristic not related to the professional sphere.
DEVELOPING AN SA8000 MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
As a strategic choice, DEAN S.p.A. progressively implements an SA8000 Management System over time, integrating it with its Quality, Environment and Safety Management Systems in order to further promote both its social responsibility issues and its continuous improvement processes aimed at risk assessment and mitigation.
The Company is committed to ensuring that the SA8000 social responsibility principles are disseminated, understood and respected by all workers and all components of the supply chain, promoting their involvement and hoping for fruitful and constructive interaction over time.
The entire management is involved in the fulfilment and implementation of these commitments by ensuring and verifying that the Social Responsibility Policy is documented, made operational, kept active, periodically reviewed, disseminated to all personnel and made available to Interested Parties.
The company encourages the conscious use of open communication channels for the submission of SA8000 reports/complaints concerning alleged or ascertained violations of the provisions of this Policy.
